365 Day Photo Challenge- Day 29

outdoors, photography

Soooo….zeroing in on moon shooting settings.  My best yet by far, can’t wait to try it out on a full moon!  Don’t know why I’m so obsessed with pictures of the moon, but I am.  I just wish it were easier to capture the beauty!

Last night’s moon.  Still working out settings on this, but I loved seeing the dark side in the photo and the effect of the clouds moving in front of it.

And today I offer you a two for one post (plus a couple bonus shots) due to yesterday’s laziness.  Today we played, so there was lots of shots to be had.  My favorite miracle today was catching things in motion AND in focus.  Here are my favs.

365 Day Photo Challenge- Day 14

kids, outdoors, photography

Today’s challenge- shooting outdoors at twilight.  Interesting because it takes different settings to capture different things.  I had a lot of fun messing around and got lots of great shots.  The kids were happy because they got to wear what they wanted (in the girl’s case: pants, a t-shirt, her favorite dress and tutu, her fuzzy jacket, AND her vest) and we just played at the playground.

365 Day Photo Challenge- Day 13

So my best shot today wasn’t stellar.  There was an awesome, perfect half moon in the sky this morning, and I messed with some slow shutter speed to try and capture it, but I know I didn’t do it justice.  This one was best because it captured the beautiful clear blue that the sky was and some detail on the moon.  Certainly a skill to practice in the future!

365 Day Photo Challenge- Day 12

food, outdoors, photography

Beautiful day today, and I actually took the camera outside to take a couple shots while the sun was shining this afternoon.  Amazing what a difference a little sunshine makes- mainly in my attitude!  Also, I made some delicious homemade Pho for dinner tonight with supplies from our local H-mart (which is super fun if you enjoy Asian or Latin foods, you should totally check it out) so there’s one really pretty picture of that too.  Enjoy!

Signs of spring….a bit early but no one told my strawberries! I hope they don’t freeze!

Garden Stones

In my little backyard garden are a couple stepping stones made for me as gifts. Before the girl came along, these are my first baby’s hands and feet.
