My little engineer at work with one of his birthday toys.  Who doesn’t love a super crazy straw?

Back to it after a bit of a hiatus (Happy Birthday to me!).  Today was my darling boy’s 5th birthday.  Boy, are we getting old!  First thing this morning he wanted to open presents.  That and a cupcake for breakfast made a pretty good start to the day!

Watching the shrinky-dinks getting shrunk.  So much fun, if you’ve never done them, it’s pretty much the coolest coloring project ever.  You color in a shape, put it in the oven and it shrinks down to a cool little plastic thing.  The best part is watching the action in the oven.

And today I offer you a two for one post (plus a couple bonus shots) due to yesterday’s laziness.  Today we played, so there was lots of shots to be had.  My favorite miracle today was catching things in motion AND in focus.  Here are my favs.

So I thought we were all better….after being sick over Christmas it seemed like we were finally all healed.  But someone brought home something terrible this weekend that knocked us all on our butts.  A family of mouth breathers we are…now please excuse me while I go blow my nose.

Today’s challenge- shooting outdoors at twilight.  Interesting because it takes different settings to capture different things.  I had a lot of fun messing around and got lots of great shots.  The kids were happy because they got to wear what they wanted (in the girl’s case: pants, a t-shirt, her favorite dress and tutu, her fuzzy jacket, AND her vest) and we just played at the playground.
